The candidate will be required to manage profitable Key Account sales, focusing on the company’s retail grocery and drug store accounts. The ability to build strong relationships, meet sales forecasts and grow sales is required. An understanding of the retail environment and the marketing of products to consumers will be an advantage.



Responsibilities:

• Manage sales quota and key performance indicators

• Effectively manage sales profitably in assigned accounts and grow new category volume

• Build and develop strong working relationships with multiple departments and levels of a key account’s organization

• Promote and sell marketing and merchandising programs to accounts

• Strong letter writing ability for quotations, action plans to customers and status reports.

• Prospect for new business opportunities through new category development into assigned accounts

• Ensure that sales programs are being effectively communicated to District Manager and Store Operations

• Occasional travel to retail stores to look for product application, spot competitive opportunities and present solutions to customers

• Maintain a high level of competitor and marketplace knowledge regarding pricing, products, discount activity and sales level

• Conduct and analyze market research to measure effectiveness of marketing campaign.

• Attend and actively contribute to weekly sales meetings

• Keep CRM system up to date and accurate

• Recommend products and/or service enhancements to improve customer satisfaction, sales potential, and new product development

• Use technology to enhance sales performance and goals. (PowerPoint, Excel, CRM)

• Ability and willingness to be cross trained and perform across all functions of the client services team



Compensation:

$45-55K base salary + 15-20% commission

Requirements:

• You must have 2+ years of Key Account Management sales experience, with preference given to applicants with solid knowledge & expertise in the grocery retail category

• A post-secondary Degree or Diploma, preferably with a sales, marketing or business focus, is an asset but not a requirement

• An excellent track record in exceeding sales and profit margin targets in retail and CPG (consumer packaged goods) category.

• Customer Driven - Understands how to develop, maintain and enhance customer relationships

• Analytical approach to information gathering and subsequent fact based decision-making.

• Dependable and team space oriented with a history of problem solving, strategic thinking and strategy execution.

• Supply Chain Fundamentals - Understands the overall supply chain to effectively make and enhance business decisions.

• Retail, Grocery, Drug Stores - Understands retail business concepts; competitor knowledge and how they operate.

• Sales and Sales Best Practices - Extensive sales experience; understands the concept of relationship and solution selling, with functional sales skills.

• Business and Financial Acumen - Understand profit and loss concepts, sales forecasting and accountability.

• Project Management - Ability to manage and measure progresses for implemented plans and programs

• Effective at planning and organizing workflow for oneself

• Change Agent - Adept at dealing with change and responding in resourceful productive manner.

• The candidate must be a self-starter and a leader with an entrepreneurial flare

• Required skills are; professionalism, integrity and attention to detail

• Strong internal & external communication skills, both written and oral.

• Will work closely with Outside Sales, Finance, Production And Logistics departments
