Overview:
Reporting to the Manager, Financial Services, this position is responsible for supervising a team of analysts and accountants and supporting project managers and senior management with financial and economic analysis related to key project decisions.
Responsibilities:
• Train, mentor and supervise a team of analysts/accountants.
• Prepare capital program business plans, GTA applications, and forecasts for; Regional Projects and Heavy Construction, Large Distribution, Transmission Capital Maintenance, Isolated Generation, Buildings and Telecommunications.
• Oversee estimating and costing of projects to ensure accuracy of forecasts.
• Perform accounting related to Distribution ES&G.
• Analyze actuals against budgets and follow up on discrepancies in costs, schedule, and scope-related issues.
• Optimize the efficiencies of integrating project accounting and project services.
• Provide accounting support to project managers, senior management and GTA witnesses.
• Provide timely, accurate reporting to project managers and senior management.
• Prepare accurate cash forecasts.
• Maintain financial policies and best practices.
• Lead and implement Oracle and other system enhancements.
• Ensure appropriate controls are in place and that operational excellence metrics are met.
• Lead and implement new initiatives.
Compensation:
$145K+
Requirements:
• Accounting designation (CGA, CMA or CA). 5 – 7 years of progressive related experience.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively and professionally as a supervisor in a dynamic environment while managing multiple demands and priorities.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Superior organizational, analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Proficient in the use of Oracle, Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Preference will be given to those candidates with experience in the regulated utility industry
