Responsibilities:
SUMMARY
Directs and coordinate sales activities of the sales organization in the province of Alberta Assists the Vice President of Sales Western Canada in the development and execution of the Alberta region marketing and sales strategy to ensure regional sales and profit objectives are met or exceeded.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Directs and coordinates activities of the field sales staff for the province with responsibility to achieve corporate goals and objectives.
Ensure development and implementation of an effective promotional plan for province in conjunction with VP Sales. Plans must support achievement of regional sales plan.
Develop strong working relationships with all key staff – from purchasing and merchandising to upper management. Key contact / liaison with personnel to present new product proposals / promotional programming /ensure adequate inventory to support provincial sales.
Delivers sales presentations to key personal and/or key retailers in coordination with sales representatives.
Manage stock requirements for province including; depletion forecasting, securing orders from customers as needed, preparing monthly forecast updates internally and troubleshoot inventory related issues.
Monitor and manage provincial promotional spend and sales team T&E expenditures to ensure corporate objectives are met and spending is within provincial budget. Approves annual budget, on-going expenditures, and appropriations for field sales staff in market.
Responsible for the preparation and presentation to customers of annual premium offering for province in such a way that gives the best possible exposure and ensures that the products are depleted in a timely and profitable fashion. Ensure allocated brands are leveraged to best advantage to support rest of portfolio.
Directs sales channel development activity and coordinates sales distribution by establishing sales territories, quotas, and goals. Ensure retail distribution standards and penetration objectives are achieved.
Oversee all promotional events in province – visits, media events and tastings. Represents Company at trade functions and tastings as needed to promote portfolio.
Maintain personal contact with local journalists, especially wine writers, in order to maintain strong relationships with the aim of achieving maximum exposure and commentary for the Company and its brands.
Monitor all provincial results versus plan and versus category trend. Ensure regional knowledge of market conditions, sales trends, product developments and competitor activity.
Provide ongoing feedback to VP Sales Western Canada. Provide monthly report to reflect key business issues / successes and performance versus objectives.
Ensure that all activities are conducted within the Provincial laws and regulations – particularly those related to trade practices.
Meets with key retailers, assisting sales representative with maintaining relationships and negotiating and closing
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Directly supervises 9 employees in the province. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.

Must be a person of high integrity, moderation, and commitment and possess a strong work ethic.
Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; and five to seven years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
